Production Operator II Responsibilities
The production operator II participates in a team‑oriented production process, operating automated equipment, diagnosing machinery failures, aiding in preventative maintenance, and sanitizing related equipment. The role also includes maintaining a safe work environment.
Position requires mastery of Enterprise software for data input, retrieval, reporting, and other functions as instructed. Demonstrated competency in all on‑the‑job activities affecting product safety, legality, and quality. Acts as a member of a highly functioning team.
Physical Requirements
Stooping/Bending and Lifting
Routinely stoop and bend while lifting 20–50 lbs
Occasionally stoop and bend while lifting dough modules up to 120 lbs
Routinely stoop, bend, and lift up to 50 lbs of ingredients to a 36‑inch high table and from table to a 54‑inch high mixer
Climbing/Crawling
Climb fixed and portable ladders 10–20 ft while carrying up to 20 lbs of scrap dough; reach 2 ft to drop scrap dough into hopper
Climb onto and crawl under machinery
Push/Pull
Push or pull wheeled carts weighing 400–500 lbs over 150–300 ft
Move wheeled containers weighing up to 2400 lbs over 50 ft with assistance
Position Responsibilities
Check and adhere to the production work schedule for job assignments and reporting times
Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures (EEO, Sexual Harassment, Safety, Sarbanes‑Oxley, etc.)
Perform other duties deemed integral by management, including schedule fulfillment, attendance policy adherence, and other applicable rules
Maintain cleanliness of work area at all times
May operate facility metal detectors; must be fully trained and certified
Comply with work rules, safety rules and GMPs
General Duties (Applicable Across Machine Assignments)
Set up equipment following all established procedures, specifications, and safety guidelines
Ensure continuous, efficient flow of materials through assigned equipment
Verify product quality meets required standards throughout operation
Make necessary adjustments to equipment to maintain proper performance, measurements, and production speeds
Remove defective product and ensure only compliant product moves forward
Maintain clean, organized work areas and follow all sanitation requirements
Complete required documentation and system entries accurately and on time
Preferred Qualifications
Two (2) or more years of related experience
Essential Job Requirements
High School diploma or equivalency plus successful completion of a technical certification course (e.g., HVAC, auto maintenance/repair) or equivalent military training, other related technical training, or at least 45 college credit hours; a technical certification course may include the AIB “Science of Baking” course
