The Production Scheduler is responsible for developing and maintaining daily and weekly production schedules to ensure alignment between production demand, material availability, and plant capacity using takt time. This role ensures the build plan is executable by coordinating closely with production, kitting, and logistics teams to prevent disruptions and maintain schedule stability.
The position serves as a central point of coordination for production scheduling, adjusting plans based on real-time conditions and ensuring clear communication across all stakeholders to support efficient and uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
About the Facility
Isuzu North America Corporation is investing approximately $280 million to establish a new production facility in Greenville County, South Carolina. This 1 million-square-foot, state-of-the-art plant—set on over 200 acres—will feature a flexible production line capable of manufacturing both internal combustion and electric vehicles. Production will include the N-Series Gas, N-Series Electric, and F-Series Diesel trucks. Operations are expected to launch in 2027, with expansion slated for 2028. Strategically located near I-85, I-26, and the Port of Charleston, the site supports streamlined logistics and consolidated operations under one roof. This initiative is projected to create over 700 new jobs in the area.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
Develop and maintain daily and weekly production schedules based on customer forecast demands, plant capacity, and operational constraints
Adjust production schedules in real time to respond to material shortages, quality issues, or production disruptions
Ensure production plans are realistic, and executable based on current plant conditions and takt time
Coordinate with logistics team to confirm material readiness against the production schedule
Identify gaps between planned production and material availability and adjust schedules accordingly
Monitor production progress and adjust schedules to maintain alignment with operational performance
Act as the primary point of contact for schedule-related issues impacting production
Communicate schedule changes clearly to production, logistics, and leadership teams
Identify risks to production including shortages, delays, or quality holds and escalates appropriately
Support production teams by aligning schedule adjustments with real-time shop floor conditions
Utilize ERP/MRP systems to manage production schedules and track execution
Maintain accurate scheduling data and ensure system alignment with production status
Collaborate daily with production, kitting, logistics, and planning teams to support schedule execution
Identify opportunities to improve scheduling accuracy, stability, and adherence
Prepare daily, weekly and monthly reporting for management
Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce disruptions and improve production flow
Follow safety procedures, standard work practices, and support a safe working environment
Perform other duties as assigned to support company and department goals
Required Education, Training, & Experience
High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree in supply chain, operations, business, or related field preferred
Minimum 5 years of experience in production scheduling, planning, logistics, or manufacturing operations
Experience working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Experience with ERP/MRP systems, SAP preferred
Thorough understanding of production processes, material flow, and scheduling concepts
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
Strong understanding of production scheduling, material flow, and manufacturing operations
Ability to manage multiple priorities and adjust plans in a dynamic environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Effective communication skills to coordinate across cross-functional teams
Ability to interpret data and make decisions impacting production flow
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and production planning systems
Knowledge of standard work and continuous improvement principles
Ability to work effectively in a startup manufacturing environment
