Safety Coordinator
Reports To: Corporate Safety Director
What You’ll Do
Implement, monitor, and continuously improve site and regional safety programs in alignment with corporate EHS policies
Support and assist with corporate safety initiatives
Conduct new employee safety orientations and ongoing safety training for employees and subcontractors
Develop, coordinate, and deliver daily, weekly, and monthly safety briefings and toolbox talks
Review, develop, and maintain Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs), Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and Site‑Specific Safety Plans
Ensure proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is available, maintained, and consistently used
Maintain accurate safety training records and databases
Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and compliance checks; document and track corrective actions
Investigate incidents, near‑misses, and hazardous conditions and prepare reports
Collect and maintain OSHA‑required data for internal, customer, and regulatory reporting
Interface with project managers, supervisors, craft personnel, and corporate leadership
Review subcontractor safety plans and JHAs to ensure compliance
Safely handle, store, and dispose of hazardous materials in compliance with all DOT, OSHA, and environmental regulations
What You’ll Bring
High school diploma or equivalent required; degree in Safety or related field preferred
Experience supporting safety programs in facilities, construction, or environmental settings
Working knowledge of OSHA regulations
Prior experience working with hazardous materials, including proper handling, labeling, transportation, and spill response procedures
Experience developing and delivering safety training
Strong communication and organizational skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Ability to pass a U.S. Government background investigation and drug screen
Location Requirements
The position will primarily work onsite in Durham, NC with travel up to 25% to regional project sites.
Compensation
Expected Salary: $80,000 - $95,000
