Overview
The Microsoft 365 Copilot Trainer is a functional Copilot adoption expert responsible for driving enterprise-wide AI enablement, training delivery, and productivity transformation across Microsoft 365 Copilot users.
The role focuses on moving users from awareness → hands-on capability → sustained adoption → measurable productivity gains (ROI) through structured training programs, workshops, and adoption campaigns.
The trainer will deliver large-scale training sessions (100–200 participants) for senior business users and play a key role in building Copilot fluency across multiple business personas.
This is strictly a training and enablement role (not development or implementation).
Key Responsibilities
1. Copilot Training Delivery (Enterprise Scale)
Deliver live training sessions (onsite and virtual) on Microsoft 365 Copilot across Teams, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Conduct webinars, demos, and hands-on workshops for senior-level stakeholders (100–200 users per session).
Create and manage recorded training content and reusable learning assets.
Facilitate office hours / Q&A clinics to support adoption challenges.
2. Prompt Engineering & Coaching
Train users on effective prompt writing techniques (context, structure, iteration, grounding).
Build persona-based prompt libraries and real-world workflow examples.
Provide live prompt coaching during sessions and labs.
3. Persona-Based Learning & Use Case Discovery
Conduct Day-in-the-Life (DITL) interviews with business users.
Identify workflows, pain points, and opportunities for Copilot usage.
Translate insights into role-based training scenarios and adoption journeys.
4. Workshops & Design Thinking Facilitation
Conduct design thinking sessions to map workflows and identify Copilot use cases.
Convert workshop outputs into structured training content and labs.
Build prioritized use-case backlogs by business function.
5. Training Content Development
Develop structured lesson plans, facilitator guides, and lab exercises.
Create persona-based learning paths (Finance, HR, Sales, Operations, Leadership, etc.).
Maintain training assets: decks, workbooks, FAQs, demo scripts, and troubleshooting guides.
6. Adoption & Change Enablement
Run change engagement activities (Change Corners, clinics, awareness sessions).
Support champion networks and train-the-trainer programs.
Deliver adoption campaigns (tips, prompts, success stories, newsletters).
Support ROI narratives (time savings, productivity improvements).
Provide feedback to program leadership for continuous improvement.
Stay current with Microsoft 365 Copilot feature updates.
Rapidly update training content based on product changes.
Communicate new capabilities to stakeholders.
Required Skills & Experience
5–10+ years in enterprise training, OCM, digital adoption, or facilitation roles
Excellent communication, storytelling, and presentation skills
Experience handling large audience training (100–200+ participants)
Ability to translate business workflows into practical Copilot use cases
Strong facilitation skills (workshops, interviews, group sessions)
Experience in persona-based training design and adult learning principles
Preferred Skills
Experience with AI adoption or Microsoft Copilot enablement
Knowledge of Change Management (ADKAR / Prosci preferred)
Experience with enterprise adoption programs or internal training academies
Exposure to regulated enterprise environments (Finance / Insurance preferred)
Persona-based training programs and learning paths
Copilot training decks, lab guides, and facilitator kits
Prompt libraries and use-case scenario repository
Adoption campaign content (tips, newsletters, success stories)
Adoption insights and ROI reporting inputs
Success Metrics
Number of users trained and session completion rates
Improvement in Copilot adoption and active usage
Internal trainer certification (target-based, e.g., 30+ trainers)
Measured productivity gains / time savings
CSAT and user confidence improvement scores
Work Model
Initial onsite training required, followed by remote delivery
Preference for local candidates or willingness to relocate
