Overview
A highly regarded boutique law firm is seeking a Labor & Employment Associate Attorney to join its Los Angeles office. The firm advises employers, executives, and organizations on a wide range of workplace matters, combining practical counseling with sophisticated litigation capabilities. The Labor & Employment Associate Attorney will play a key role in managing matters from inception through resolution, including litigation, counseling, and workplace investigations.
Responsibilities
Advise employers on a broad range of employment law matters, including compliance with federal, state, and local laws
Handle employment litigation matters from initial filing through resolution, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery
Counsel clients on issues involving wage and hour, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and workplace policies
Draft and review employment-related agreements, including offer letters, separation agreements, and restrictive covenants
Conduct and support internal workplace investigations, including sensitive and high-profile matters
Assist clients with risk mitigation, compliance strategies, and day-to-day employment issues
Collaborate with senior attorneys on case strategy, client counseling, and litigation approach
Maintain organized case files and ensure compliance with deadlines and procedural requirements
Qualifications
2–5 years of labor and employment experience (flexible based on depth of experience)
Experience handling employment litigation and/or providing employment counsel
Familiarity with wage and hour laws, discrimination claims, and workplace compliance issues
Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills
Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment
Excellent communication and client-facing skills
Collaborative mindset with a stable employment history
Active California Bar admission, or willingness to obtain admission (timeline required)
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
