General Description
The Concrete Foreman is responsible for supervising field operations on earthwork, roadway, and concrete projects. This role involves directing and coordinating crew activities while ensuring safety, quality, and productivity on-site.

Key Duties
Supervision & Reporting

Directly supervises the crew and ensures work is completed efficiently.

Reports project progress and issues to the Superintendent.

Monitors crew structure, size, and efficiency, making adjustments as needed.

Sends daily reports to the Superintendent and Project Manager.

Reports on time, materials, and changes in construction plans.

Equipment & Operations

Operates equipment safely while ensuring production and safety goals are met.

Knowledgeable in dirt work, excavation, grading, surveying, and final excavation.

Ensures completed work complies with codes, drawings, and specifications.

Reads, understands, and interprets blueprints and construction documents.

Material & Safety Management

Quantifies and verifies material deliveries according to Bill of Lading.

Codes delivery tickets and submits them to the Superintendent.

Recognizes changes in project scope and takes appropriate action.

Implements and monitors safety orientations and procedures on-site.

Provides coaching for safety improvements within the crew.

General Responsibilities

Communicates professionally with supervisors, teammates, contractors, clients, and vendors.

Understands production and quantity requirements to ensure project quality.

Performs incidental work and duties in related crafts as needed.

Works day or night shifts, including weekends when required.

Qualification Requirements
Education & Experience

High school diploma or GED preferred.

3–5 years of experience as a Foreman or in a related role.

Strong knowledge of construction techniques, equipment, and site safety.

Ability to communicate effectively and lead a team.

Physical Demands

Constant standing, bending, stooping, and crouching for at least 8 hours per shift.

Ability to lift 50 lbs frequently and up to 150 lbs with assistance.

Walk frequently on uneven terrain in varying weather conditions.

Maintain constant awareness of construction site activities and moving equipment.

Safely climb on and off heavy equipment.

Work in confined spaces and excavations up to 20 feet deep using ladders or crawling.

Outdoor construction site in all weather conditions.

Exposure to high noise levels, dust, grease, and heavy machinery.

Regular work near moving equipment and construction materials.

Handling of substances such as form oil, curing compounds, gasoline, and concrete.
