TRANSPORTATION EQUIPMENT WASHER Indian Trail Distribution Center - 1st shift - Part Time
Summary: Responsible for washing the exterior of tractors and trailers. Also involved with washing the interior of trailers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Drive tractors and trailers into the truck wash.

Operate the truck wash in a safe, clean and efficient manner.

Fill chemicals and maintain an inventory of those chemicals.

Clean garage and dispatch as needed.

Work safely with approved chemicals.

Complete any additional responsibilities assigned by any warehouse management member.

Follow Company's attendance and tardy policies.

Follow Company's safety policies.

Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years of age.

Education/Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability: Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to effectively present information in one‑on‑one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Math Ability: Ability to add and subtract two‑digit numbers and to multiply and divide with tens and hundreds; ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions; ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills: Knowledge of inventory software.

Certificates and Licenses: Ability to successfully pass Industrial Equipment Certification Test on all equipment used in the function of this job.

Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions (non‑weather); extreme cold (non‑weather); extreme heat (non‑weather) and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts; to toxic or caustic chemicals and outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Physical Demands: The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee frequently required to stand and walk. The employee occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear and taste or smell.
