We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Physician Assistant with expertise in cardiothoracic procedures to cover essential surgical cases at Saint Joseph Hospital. Required Skills:

• Certification as a Physician Assistant (PA)
• Proven proficiency in first assisting in CABG, AVR, MVR, thoracotomy, and lung resection cases
• Ability to perform OR duties, telemetry, and ICU responsibilities
• Strong understanding of cardiothoracic surgical procedures and postoperative care
• Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

Nice to Have Skills:

• Experience with Epic EMR system
• Prior experience in a hospital-based surgical setting
• Ability to handle on-call responsibilities efficiently
• Basic knowledge of vein harvest and chest tube placement

Preferred Education and Experience:

• Graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant program
• Minimum of 2 years with active clinical experience in cardiothoracic surgery or a related specialty
• Valid Kentucky State PA license or eligibility to obtain one

Other Requirements:

• Must be licensed and credentialed at Saint Joseph Hospital (KY) within 90-110 days
• Must be able to perform procedures as required, with malpractice coverage in place
• Availability for scheduled weekend covering once a month and on-call from 7 am Friday to 7 am Monday
• Travel preferences include local lodging and minimal travel, with specific hotel options and preferred travel origin from your current location

This position offers an hourly pay rate starting at $0.00 (specific rate to be discussed).
