If so, we have the opportunity for you! Flour Bakery + Cafe is looking for dining room stewards for full and part time positions!

The Steward directly reports to the bakery Kitchen Manager but will also be given direction from the FOH manager and FOH assistant manager. Flour’s steward responsibility is to provide ultimate hospitality and make sure our guests have everything they need to enjoy their visit and the bakery is fully stocked and cleaned. Filled milks, water pitcher, and clean/full condiment station, clean tables chairs and floors, clean/stocked bathrooms, clean patio areas, and trash and recycling emptying as needed. Stewards are a vital part of the guests overall comfort and experience when visiting Flour. Rounds to address each of the above tasks must be conducted every 15min throughout one shift.

Day-to-Day Performance Expectations

Clean & organize condiment station

Refilling of water, milk, syrups, lemons, etc.

Stocking utensils, plates, napkins, etc.

Removal of full compost, recycling and trash from dining room

Keeping trash area clean from debris on floors and on/in barrels.

Restocking bathrooms with toilet paper, paper towels.

Keeping bathroom floors, sinks, mirrors, trash and toilet clean.

Cleaning glass windows, doors and keeping them free of smudge marks.

Clearing tables as soon as guests leave, providing a clean area for our next guest to sit comfortably.

Bus guests dirty dishes as needed.

Sweep kitchen, dining room, sandwich station line, walk‑ins and freezers throughout the day, keeping all areas clean and dry.

Acting as the dishwasher during specific shifts, break coverage, and during high‑volume of dishes.

Assist Chef with any prep or cleaning tasks needed during any downtime.

Skills for Qualification

Excellent sense of urgency and hospitality

Ability to recognize when and where further cleaning to our standards is needed

Ability to take feedback and direction

Must be able to maintain grooming and uniform standards

Ability to stand for long periods, walk, push, pull, reach, and lift

Ability to operate equipment such as a dishwasher, and cleaning tools

Must have scheduling availability to work at least 3 shifts/20 hours per week and at least one weekend shift

Willingness to work in a team and help all other departments, as needed

Work Environment

Must be able to work in an environment with loud noises and machinery.

Must be able to work around various aromas and fluctuating temperatures.

We do our best not to cross‑contaminate anything containing gluten. However, there may be gluten in the air at times. We do our best to accommodate any staff allergy requests.

We ask for a minimum commitment of one year, unfortunately, we do not offer seasonal or temporary work.

Compensation
This position has an average starting compensation of $15 - 17 per hour ($15 per hour + a shared percentage of sales known as the BOH appreciation, which on average adds around $2 per hour). The starting pay rate for this position is $15, but the total pay range is $15-$19.86.
