Position Overview
The Assistant Controller at the Boston Marriott Burlington will maintain accounting standards within established policies and procedures, ensuring accurate reporting of revenues and costs, timely payment of invoices, and receipt of monies owed to the hotel.
Essential Functions
Completes daily accounting tasks including income journal, event checks, direct billing, and accounting adjustments.
Obtains approvals from department heads on invoices, makes proper accounting entries, reconciles discrepancies with vendors, and prepares invoice transmittals for payment.
Researches and investigates credit card disputes, makes adjustments and chargebacks, and balances credit card transmittals.
Maintains files of all accounting documentation.
Ensures department follows audit standards and responsibilities.
Resolves guest challenges to ensure guest satisfaction.
Ensures supervisors complete inventories and purchase supplies within budget.
Qualifications
Two years’ experience in a hotel environment; exceptional organizational skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with Marriott Systems / FSPMS.
Compensation
$60,000 – $65,000, based on skill set, experience, certifications, and location.
