Working Title: Accounting Clerk
Location: Salt Lake City, UT (Campus)
Hours: 20 hours per week, part‑time, day shift (M-F 8:00am‑5:00pm)
Pay Rate: $16.00/h
Job Summary
Processes repetitive and nonrepetitive clerical accounting transactions which require specific knowledge of a wide variety of prescribed accounting codes and classifications.
Responsibilities
Prepares payroll and journal entries for payroll deductions, and other accounting documents.
Records various payroll tax amounts on spreadsheets.
Assists with payroll tax processing tasks related to IRS Forms W‑2 and W‑4.
Assists with income tax processing tasks in preparation of the University’s IRS Forms 990‑T and 990.
Records and deposits various types of amounts received by the department.
Processes mail, faxes, and checks received by the department.
Assists staff on various tasks and projects.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be a current University of Utah student.
One year of experience performing accounting functions and preparing related reports, or equivalent; ability to use standard office machines, calculators, and data input terminals; and demonstrated human relation and effective communication skills required.
