Position
Instrumentation and Design/Build Manager – Oklahoma City, OK
In this role, the manager will be responsible for oversight of Flight Test Instrumentation & Design/Build activities associated with commercial derivative and military test aircraft programs. Responsibilities span all phases of flight test Design/Build effort starting with estimation, requirements development, baseline development, resource planning, work placement, oversight of engineering & ME planning releases as well as providing liaison engineering support during build, test execution and refurbishment phase. Assigned manager will be in charge of managing budget, schedule, cost, risks & opportunities while emphasizing safety and first pass quality.
Position Responsibilities
Manages employees performing activities within multiple (2 or more) Engineering disciplines
Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals
Acquires resources for projects and processes, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports
Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes
Manages, develops and motivates employees
Basic Qualifications
Active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship required). A clearance active within the past 24 months is considered active.
Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or a non‑U.S. equivalent qualification directly related to the work statement.
At least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temporary manager, large‑scale cross‑functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR completion of the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership.”
3+ years of experience leading or conducting complex flight testing in an integrated test team environment.
1+ year of experience with Earned Value Management (EVM).
Willing and able to travel up to 25% of the time domestically and internationally.
Preferred Qualifications
Engineering experience with the Mobility, Surveillance and Bombers (MS&B) portfolio.
Experience with flight test instrumentation/design build.
