Maintenance Technician

Position Summary
Position Summary:
As a Maintenance technician your responsibilities will include but not be limited to, set up equipment as needed, the repair of equipment, performing preventative maintenance, ordering replacement parts for equipment, repair leaks of all kinds. A successful candidate must have superior written and verbal communication skills. This position requires a strict adherence to safety policies and procedures and a commitment to customer quality. This position requires flexibility; must be available for regular standby assignments; work scheduled off‑hours and emergency overtime as required.
Duties and Responsibilities
Mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills for the following disciplines
General print reading
Air systems
Water systems
Air compressors
Chilled water systems
Suction and pressure style powder conveying systems
Pumps and valve rebuild
Shaft alignment including bearing installation and setting clearances
Part of lean and 6s teams
Perform preventative maintenance
Install safety devices on equipment and maintain those devices.
Order parts as needed
Maintain repair parts inventory
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Electrical troubleshooting and repair skills preferred
High school diploma or equivalent
2‑year technical school degree or 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment
Proficient in Word and Excel
Experience with extrusion equipment and associated equipment preferred
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
Able to read printed materials and a computer screen
