Starting salary of $35-$44 per hour depending on experience

The hours and location you’ll work as a Senior Diesel Mechanic with WM

Monday – Friday every week

Second Shift, 2:30pm start time

No weekends

The normal setting for this job is a repair / maintenance shop at our Arlington, OR site

What you’ll do

Inspect, diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment

Estimate time and material costs on vehicle repairs and new parts

Perform work within our Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs)

Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns

Perform safety checks on vehicles – the safety of every single employee and the people in our communities is our number one priority

Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times

Assist Diesel Mechanics in completing project work

Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports

Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards and perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures

What do you need to be considered for the role of Senior Diesel Mechanic

4 years of heavy‑duty truck experience

A valid driver’s license, with a clean driving record

Be over 18 years of age

Legally eligible to work in the United States

Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations

Successfully complete and pass pre‑employment drug screen and physical

Required to exert physical effort that will include frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, and climbing; constantly standing, walking, and grasping; occasionally sitting and balancing

Required to be exposed to a physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements often

This job operates in both inside garage, shop or gas plant conditions as well as in outside conditions that include inclement weather, heat and humidity
