Overview
Your Job location: Vidor, TX. Opening for an Ironworker Foreman.

What You Will Do

Strong knowledge of structural iron, rigging, tools, procedures, safe lifting, and best practices.

Practical knowledge of structural steel assembly and installation.

Communicate effectively with the rigging team (other riggers and crane operator).

Familiar with standard crane hand signals.

Assess weights of loads and equipment needed to lift safely.

Lead small teams and assign job duties; ensure proper training for crew.

Be a safety role model and enforce OPD and client safety policies.

Anticipate and report potential safety and environmental concerns to the OPD Superintendent.

Provide records of work completed to the OPD Superintendent.

Physical Demands

Work outdoors in extreme heat/cold, and at high elevations.

Work on elevated platforms while wearing a full-body harness and lanyard.

Lifting and carrying up to 60 lbs; standing up to 11 hours per day with breaks every 2.5 hours.

Frequent movement requiring balance, climbing, bending, and handling tools.

Basic Qualifications

At least 2 years of experience as a foreman or supervisor.

Knowledge of crane signals (hand and verbal).

Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English.

Other Job Requirements

Willingness to travel with extended periods away from home in remote areas.

Must be able to wear a harness and work on elevated platforms; balance on narrow platforms.

Ability to work shifts up to 12 hours per day and 7 days per week; meet all physical demands.

Preferred Requirements

Previous experience in a gas plant construction environment.

At least 5 years of experience as an ironworker foreman and as a leader in safety.

Experience leading small teams of 10-25 people.
