Pay Rate: $20–$27 per hour

Schedule: Monday – Friday | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

We are currently seeking a Bankruptcy Assistant for a 6-month contract-to-hire opportunity. This role is critical in supporting bankruptcy operations, ensuring compliance with regulations, and delivering a high level of service to customers during sensitive financial situations.
Key Responsibilities
Independently manage a Chapter 7 bankruptcy portfolio
Prepare reaffirmation agreements in accordance with investor guidelines and coordinate with attorneys
Maintain accurate and detailed system notes regarding case activity, follow-ups, and communications
Handle inbound calls related to bankruptcy payments with professionalism and empathy
Process invoices from vendors and attorneys for review and approval
Review and complete mortgage assignment documentation as required
Manage and distribute communications from the bankruptcy email inbox
Support audit processes by gathering and uploading required documentation
Monitor deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Review loan population reports and ensure required inspections are completed and documented
Audit completed files for accuracy and upload into document retention systems
Handle court notifications, inbound mail, and payment processing
Ensure compliance with all internal policies and regulatory requirements
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework preferred
Minimum 3 years of experience in mortgage servicing or foreclosure processing
At least 2 years of bankruptcy-related experience
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
Ability to work in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally
Basic math and computer skills required
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and cloud-based tools
Experience with document retention systems (e.g., Blitzdoc, AIQ) is a plus
10-key proficiency preferred
