Prime Video is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to join the Amazon MGM Studios Technology team in Culver City, CA. In this role, you will collaborate with cross‑functional teams to design, implement, and maintain business‑critical infrastructure that supports production and post‑production partners worldwide.
Key Job Responsibilities Design, implement, and support network, system, and storage solutions optimized for studio workflows across on‑premises data centers, public cloud platforms, and production/post‑production facilities globally.
Perform routine maintenance, updates, and patches for network equipment, storage arrays, and server infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and security.
Monitor system performance, capacity, and availability; troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in large‑scale, multi‑platform environments supporting global production operations.
Provide hands‑on technical support at production facilities, post‑production sites, and remote work environments; respond promptly to alerts and incidents.
Execute storage provisioning, data migration, and capacity management tasks while developing scripts and automation tools for routine administrative operations.
Collaborate with production teams, engineering groups, and vendors to understand requirements and implement solutions.
Document system configurations, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides for network, system, and storage infrastructure.
A Day in the Life As a Systems Engineer on the Media Systems Engineering team, you’ll design and implement network, system, and storage solutions that support studio production workflows across global facilities. You’ll tackle complex technical challenges in hybrid‑cloud environments, working alongside talented engineers and production teams to ensure seamless infrastructure scalability. Whether troubleshooting critical production issues, automating workflows, or architecting next‑generation infrastructure, your work will have immediate impact.
About the Team The Media Systems Engineering team designs and delivers production and post‑production environments, technology solutions, and hybrid infrastructure that automate, streamline, and optimize audio and video workflows throughout the content creation lifecycle at Amazon MGM Studios and Prime Video.
Basic Qualifications Experience with network fundamentals (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, routing, switching, HTTP).
Knowledge of one or more of: access‑control systems and methodology, network security, application‑and system‑development security, security architecture and models, cryptography, and operational security.
Experience with cloud infrastructure technologies.
Experience in systems administration (Linux/Windows).
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities.
5+ years of relevant hands‑on systems engineering and administrative work in networking, storage systems, and operating systems.
Preferred Qualifications Experience managing or implementing system health, performance monitoring, capacity planning, or process improvement and automation.
Experience with infrastructure‑as‑code, ops automation, and configuration‑management tools such as Chef, Puppet, or Ansible.
Experience with programming/scripting (Batch, VB, PowerShell, Java, C#, Chef, Perl, Ruby, PHP) and version‑control tools.
Experience with virtualization (Hypervisors, VMware, Xen) or Kubernetes, Docker, or containers ecosystem.
Experience with Active Directory or deployment of identity and access management systems.
Experience supporting media and entertainment workflows, including high‑throughput network design for media production and post‑production environments.
