Assistant High School Activities Director / Dean of Students

This position plays a critical role in supporting extracurricular and athletic programming, student leadership, and maintaining a safe and supportive school environment. The successful candidate will serve as a key member of the school's administrative team, working to enhance student engagement and school spirit.

Administrative Team:

One principal, one associate principal, three assistant principals, one activities director and assistant activities director/dean of students

Salary:

Teacher contract and salary schedule minimum of $52,430

Key Responsibilities

Assist the Activities Director with the coordination and supervision of extracurricular and co-curricular programs, including athletics, clubs, and student leadership.

Ensure compliance with

Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA)

guidelines and district policies.

Promote student involvement in school-sponsored activities and events.

Coordinate logistics for student activities including scheduling, transportation, supervision, and communication with families and stakeholders.

Student Engagement & Operations

Support the building administration in matters related to student behavior, discipline, and attendance.

Help manage day-to-day operations, including supervision of common areas and school events.

Assist with building-level projects related to campus safety, transportation, and facilities usage.

Serve as a liaison between staff, students, and families to resolve conflicts and build positive relationships.

Participate as a member of the school's leadership team.

Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and other administrators to support student success.

Lead or support initiatives that foster a positive school culture and climate.

Mentor students and support character education and restorative practices.

Job Requirements
Education & Certification

Master's degree required

Valid Missouri teaching certificate

Experience

Minimum of five (5) years of successful teaching experience (high school level preferred)

Coaching and/or sponsoring extracurricular activities (preferred)

Demonstrated leadership in student-centered programming

Skills & Knowledge

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Understanding of MSHSAA rules and Missouri learning standards

Familiarity with Professional Learning Communities (PLC) (preferred)

Technologically literate and data-informed in decision-making
