Essential Job Functions
This position is contingent on the availability and continuation of external funding and/or contract. As such, any offer of employment may be withdrawn or employment ended in the event the external funding and/or contract ceases or is reduced.
Plans and implements an appropriate curriculum.
Establishes an enriching, safe, and clean classroom and playground environment.
Demonstrates effective class management.
Designs and develops learning materials.
Establishes and maintains open lines of communication with participating parents and coworkers.
Fulfills work obligations including: promptness, staff meetings, open house attendance, and parent orientations.
Maintains a professional posture regarding program participants, co‑workers, and administration.
Performs other duties as assigned or required.
Job Requirements
Required Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Ability to lift, carry, and put down up to fifty (50) pounds on a continuous basis. Repeated lifting and placing down of children required.
Required Certifications/Licensures
Successful completion of the FDLE Background Screening.
Must complete prior to the first day of employment the on-line Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect Training (4‑hour course).
Must complete within ninety (90) days of hire the state mandated Early Literacy for Children Birth to Three childcare trainings (5‑hour course).
Complete yearly in‑service trainings provided by the NSU University School Preschool.

Bachelor's Degree
Major
In field or 12 credits in field
Required Experience
None.
Preferred Qualifications
Valid State of Florida Certification Certificate.
Master's Degree.
One (1) year of successful experience in teaching.
