A hospital-based surgical program is seeking an experienced Cardiac Surgical Physician Assistant for locum tenens coverage. This role includes OR and ICU/CVICU responsibilities supporting cardiothoracic and vascular surgery services.

Practice Setting: Hospital / OR and ICU/CVICU
Coverage Type: Locum Tenens
Coverage Dates: April July (specific dates TBD)
Clinical Responsibilities
Reports to Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgeons
Duties include:
Rounding
Coordination of care
Writing prescriptions
Ordering and interpreting tests
Vein harvesting
Assist in surgery not required
Retrieval of vascular tissues for bypass conduit not required
Call
Includes OR call and ICU/CVICU call
Patient Volume
Average 5 20 patients per day

Additional Notes
Cardiothoracic and vascular surgery experience preferred
Critical care experience will be considered
No new graduates
Credentialing
Estimated timeframe: days
Temporary privileges potentially available in 45 days
Requirements
Board Certified required
Ohio license preferred (must be able to obtain quickly if needed)
ACLS required
COVID vaccination required
Cardiovascular thoracic surgery experience preferred
Critical care experience may be considered
No new graduates required
Self-Query NPDB (within 30 days) required at presentation
