This regional medical center is a comprehensive healthcare facility that serves as a Level II trauma center, providing advanced emergency and surgical services to the Atlantic City community. The facility utilizes Cerner EMR systems and maintains 24/7 physician supervision to ensure optimal patient care and provider support.
Opportunity:
NP/PA - Trauma Surgery
Job Details:
• Work 12-hour shifts (7AM-7PM or 7PM-7AM) through October with ASAP start date
• Provide trauma and acute care surgery support at Level II trauma center
• Respond to trauma alerts and surgical consultations in the emergency department
• Perform inpatient rounding and provide OR support for trauma and acute care surgery
• Handle admitting responsibilities, facilitate discharges, and manage ER admissions
• Respond to house codes and rapid response team calls
• Insert and manage ventilation equipment, chest tubes, central lines, arterial lines, and PICC lines
• Perform minor laceration suturing and provide non-invasive ventilatory support (BiPAP/CPAP)
• Work under 24/7 supervising physician presence - no autonomous practice
• Must hold active New Jersey state license and NP with RNFA or PA certification
• Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, and ATLS or ATCN
• Experience in trauma and acute care surgery required
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• No formal call required, though shift coverage may include weekends and nights
• Coverage includes temporary support while facility seeks permanent provider
Compensation:
