Systems Administrator - Marketing, Communications, and Technology

The Marriott School of Business is seeking a dynamic and qualified individual to lead the Systems and Support IT Team. As the Systems Administrator/IT Manager, you will be at the forefront of overseeing the critical production servers and applications that drive the core business operations of the college. This role requires a proactive and strategic approach to ensure the continuous availability and recoverability of systems and data. Additionally, this role is responsible for directing operations of the IT Support Desk and providing technology issue resolution and employee training.

What you'll do in this position:

Lead the administration, performance, and security of enterprise Windows and Linux systems supporting college operations.
Ensure system reliability through proactive monitoring, backup management, and disaster recover planning.
Oversee and develop a team of student IT support staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.
Serve as the escalation point for complex technical issues and provide advanced troubleshooting and resolution.
Establish, implement, and maintain system security, and support desk policies, standards, and best practices.
Lead cybersecurity efforts for the college, including prevention, response, and mitigation of potential threats.
Partner with BYU OIT and campus stakeholders to align on infrastructure, security, and enterprise technology services.
Manage and contribute to IT projects, including system implementations, upgrades, and building or infrastructure initiatives.
Evaluate, recommend, and implement technology solutions that improve efficiency, reliability, and user experience.
Support IT budgeting, hardware and software purchasing, and long-term resource planning.

What qualifies you for this role:

Required A firm commitment to the mission of BYU
Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, IT, or a closely related technical discipline; or equivalent combination of work experience and education plus 2 years' experience in systems administration.
Systems administration in Linux and Windows
Technical problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Work independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Self-motivated
Preferred Master's degree
6 years of experience in systems administration and management (planning, engineering, and implementing enterprise scale servers) on both Linux and Windows platforms.
Certifications in Linux Systems Administration
Microsoft 365 Certified: Endpoint Administrator Associate
IT Service Management (ITSM) and IT Operations Management (ITOM)

Pay Grade: 54T

Typical Starting Pay: $88,000.00 to $114,000.00 annually
