Lead Forensic Interviewer

The Lead Forensic Interviewer is responsible for conducting high-quality, developmentally appropriate forensic interviews of children and adolescents who are alleged victims of abuse or witnesses to violence. This role also provides leadership, quality assurance, training coordination, and scheduling oversight for all forensic interviewers, in accordance with National Children’s Alliance (NCA) accreditation standards and multidisciplinary team (MDT) best practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Forensic Interviewing

Conduct developmentally appropriate, non-leading forensic interviews of children and adolescents regarding allegations of abuse or exposure to violence, at the request of law enforcement, child protection services, and/or prosecution.

Participate in MDT case discussions following interviews and prepare brief written summaries as required.

Respond to subpoenas and testify in court when requested.

Leadership and Quality Assurance

Provide quality assurance oversight for all forensic interviews, including participation in peer review and video review processes.

Identify, report, and address interview quality concerns in collaboration with the Program Manager or Administrative Agent Designee.

Provide guidance, mentoring, and supervision to forensic interviewers as assigned.

Training and Scheduling

Coordinate, arrange, and track required training for forensic interviewers to ensure compliance with NCA accreditation standards.

Manage and maintain the forensic interviewer schedule, including participation in on-call rotations and after-hours interviews.

Administrative and Program Support

Assist with interviewing and making recommendations regarding candidates for forensic interviewer positions.

Perform other duties as assigned to support CAC operations.
