Position Description
Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Richmond, VA.
Pay: $1,600–$1,900 weekly average.
Solo miles pay: $0.56 per mile (2,500–4,000 miles per week).
Solo stops pay: $30.00 per stop (2–3 stops per week).
Per diem: $50.00 per night (5–7 nights out).
Paid training. Schedule: Idaho run every other Monday; Chicago run Monday–Friday. Start time: 7:00–8:00 AM dispatch window.
Routes & Equipment
Deliver SOLO to Burley, ID and Chicago, IL.
Route: Local Regional.
Tractor Type: Sleeper.
Trailer Type: Reefer, 53’.
Equipment: Electric or Manual Pallet Jack.
Freight: Touch – Frozen Foods.

Responsibilities
Ensure compliance with applicable federal and/or state laws, regulations, and/or agency rules, standards, and guidelines.
Detect and eliminate or minimize safety hazards. Maintain accurate records and logs.
Load/unload freight or assist in loading/unloading if required by customer.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum 21 years of age.
Pass a Ryder drug test.
Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check, including drug and alcohol verification for the last three years.
Pass a DOT physical.
Pass a Ryder road test.
Provide appropriate CDL and endorsements for the position.
Must have Class A verifiable experience in a tractor‑trailer or comparable vehicle: 9 months within the last 3 years, or 2 years within the last 5 years, or 5 years within the last 10 years.
Ability to follow written or oral instructions.
Ability to read, interpret and apply laws, rules, regulations, policies, and/or procedures.
