Position Summary
The Forklift Operator is responsible for operating power industrial trucks for the purpose of moving, locating, relocating, stacking, and counting merchandise. The operator is accountable for the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle and may also be required to perform Order Filler and Checker duties in addition to their own. They are responsible for accurately storing, shipping, and receiving products to meet company standards of safety, security, and productivity.

Responsibilities

Unload inbound shipments safely and move product to storage locations.

Input data accurately into WMS and efficiently stack and store product in appropriate area.

Maintain an organized work area.

Pull and prepare for shipment, ensuring that the exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped.

Perform picking duties efficiently to meet customer service standards.

Prepare freight for operations accurately and in a timely manner.

Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage; report quality variances.

Move product from staging and/or storage to production lines and/or staging docks efficiently, with proper documentation.

Keep appropriate records and reports to maintain inventory control and security.

Assist in physical inventories and ensure proper stock rotation.

Maintain a clean, neat, orderly work area and assist in warehouse security.

Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials using forklift, clamp truck, drum attachment, or other power equipment.

Maintain the facility’s equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.

Inspect and perform minor maintenance on forklift or other equipment on a daily basis.

Operate all equipment safely and efficiently following prescribed work methods.

Maintain an active forklift certification.

Perform or assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned.

Change fuel tanks on forklifts as needed; repair pallets, trailers, and truck bays as requested; maintain clean safe environment.

Perform other duties as required.

Work overtime as dictated by business.

Supervisory Responsibilities
None

Minimum Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.

At least 6 months of experience in logistics/distribution.

Ability to operate MHE.

Ability to work in unregulated temperatures (mild to moderate).

Completion of a forklift training program.

Basic computer skills (RF scanners, WMS).

English proficiency (reading, writing, verbal).

Basic to intermediate mathematical skills for verifying quantities and inventory.

Strong attention to detail and timely task completion.

Ability to work independently and adapt to change.

Preferred Qualifications

1–2 years of warehouse/logistics/distribution experience.

1–2 years of forklift experience.

Current or prior MHE certification.

Physical Demands

Occasionally handling/fingering and sitting.

Frequently bending.

Constantly walking and standing.

Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 21–50 pounds.

Reach above shoulder, reach outward, squat, or kneel.

Work Environment
The job is performed in a warehouse environment with low to moderate noise. Exposure to fumes or airborne particles is rare.

Compensation
Expected base pay range is $20.00–$24.84 hourly. Actual compensation will be determined based on job‑related factors, including relevant experience, skills, education or certifications, and geographic location.
