
Payroll Specialist

We are seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to support high-volume, multi-state payroll operations within a fast-paced corporate environment. This role will be responsible for end-to-end payroll processing, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely delivery for a large employee population. This is a temporary, onsite position with strong exposure to enterprise-level payroll systems.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll for 2,000+ exempt and non-exempt employees
Review, audit, and import timekeeping data from UKG into ADP Workforce Now
Manage payroll transactions including new hires, terminations, compensation changes, garnishments, and deductions
Ensure accurate processing of PTO, benefits deductions, 401(k), and direct deposits
Reconcile payroll data before and after submission to ensure accuracy
Handle special payrolls including adjustments, bonuses, gross-ups, and third-party sick pay
Respond to employee payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies efficiently
Assist with audits, reporting, and payroll-related projects
Maintain strict confidentiality of employee and payroll data
QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred
5+ years of multi-state payroll processing experience (exempt & non-exempt)
Strong experience with ADP Workforce Now (v12+) required
Experience with UKG (timekeeping system) required
Strong understanding of federal and state payroll regulations
Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills
Ability to handle sensitive data with discretion
