
Operator

Ameristar Perimeter Security USA, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is looking for an Operator. This position will be responsible for the tube mill operations and equipment of the mill to insure continuous operation during the shift. This will be a 1st Shift position; Monday - Thursday, 5:00am to 3:30pm.
Responsibilities
Safety, quality, priorities above all
Focus on keeping the mill operational
Maintain clean, safe, organized work area, 5S
Cross‑train team members on parts programming and mill set‑ups
TPM of process and equipment in the area
Coordinate daily and weekly activities with department supervisor
Perform visual and manual quality checks of finished products and minimize scrap
Work with maintenance hands‑on to get issues resolved in a timely manner
Document downtime through the seamless reporting system to drive KPI tracking
Communicate with coworkers to insure continuous flow of the mill and material handler for proper tagging of product
React to schedule changes and conditions on the mill
Contribute to and value continuous improvement activities
Qualifications
High School diploma or GED Equivalent
Good mechanical aptitude
Experience using special measuring devices, micrometers, calipers, and tape measures
Ability to read set‑up charts supplied by OEM and interpret them to roll tooling adjustments
Change out cut‑off jaws, blades, and refill oil levels of equipment
Demonstrate ability to meet negotiated time frames of scheduling
