
Construction Controller

About Us
We are a growing commercial construction firm delivering high-quality projects along the East Coast. As we scale, we’re looking for a seasoned Controller to lead our financial operations, strengthen internal controls, and support strategic decision-making. This role reports directly to the CFO and is fully on‑site Monday–Friday in our Miami Office
What You’ll Do
Oversee all accounting operations including AP/AR, payroll, general ledger, and month‑end close
Manage job costing, WIP schedules, and project profitability analysis
Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and financial models
Ensure compliance with GAAP and construction‑specific accounting standards
Implement and monitor internal controls, policies, and procedures
Prepare timely financial statements and executive‑level reports
Manage cash flow and banking relationships
Partner with project managers on cost tracking, variance analysis, and financial insights
Lead annual audits and coordinate with external CPA firms
Oversee accounting systems including Sage 300, Procore, and Miter
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
5–10+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in construction
Strong command of job costing, WIP reporting, and percentage‑of‑completion accounting
Proficiency with construction accounting software
Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills
Detail‑oriented, proactive, and collaborative by nature
