Salary Range: $72,000 - $111,000 depending on experience
Key Responsibilities
Develop innovative product designs and engineering solutions using CAD software.
Perform detailed engineering analysis, including stress, thermal, and tolerance stack-ups, to validate designs.
Create comprehensive technical drawings, specifications, and Bills of Material (BOMs) for manufacturing.
Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize designs for production efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and assembly (DFM/DFA).
Support the prototyping, testing, and validation of new designs, iterating based on performance data and feedback.
Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes to meet product requirements and industry standards.
Investigate and resolve design-related issues, implementing corrective actions and continuous improvements.
Recommended Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo).
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication).
Experience applying Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
Knowledge of material properties and selection for various applications.
Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Bonus Qualifications
Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) or other simulation software beyond basic CAD.
Familiarity with CAM software or tooling design principles.
Working knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
Certifications in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
Hands‑on experience with prototyping, assembly, or lab testing.
