
Assistant Controller

Responsibilities
Lead the month-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial statements
Review financial results and perform variance analysis, including month-over-month and budget-to-actual comparisons
Prepare and record month-end accruals; review all accruals for completeness and accuracy
Accounting Operations Oversight
Oversee core accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and inventory-related transactions
Serve as the primary escalation point for accounting and financial issues
Ensure accuracy and completeness of operational accounting processes, including invoicing, work order flow, and inventory movements
Revenue, Payroll & Cash Flow
Ensure proper revenue recognition in accordance with GAAP across rental, parts, and service revenue streams
Oversee and review payroll processing through ADP, including new hires, compensation changes, and variance analysis; coordinate final approvals prior to submission
Prepare and maintain cash flow forecasts to support financial planning and decision-making
Assets, Inventory & Compliance
Manage fixed asset and lease accounting in compliance with GAAP, including lease accounting standards
Oversee inventory accuracy and related accounting processes
Coordinate with external auditors by preparing supporting documentation and audit schedules
Controls, Process Improvement & Leadership
Strengthen internal controls and proactively identify and implement process improvements across accounting and operational workflows
Perform and oversee periodic control activities, such as inventory spot checks and cycle count reviews
Assist in supervising and developing accounting team members by reviewing work, providing guidance, and ensuring adherence to established processes and controls
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
CPA preferred
5+ years of progressive accounting experience
Demonstrated experience owning or leading the month-end close process and financial reporting
Strong knowledge of GAAP
Experience in inventory, service, rental, or distribution environments strongly preferred
Experience in multi-location or multi-state environments, including varying tax and regulatory requirements, preferred
Proven ability to analyze financials, identify issues, and drive resolution
Strong communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills
