System Administrator Internship - Fall 2026

About the Role
The Business Infrastructure group at RTX BBN Technologies’ Cambridge, MA office is seeking a full‑time Information Technology Undergraduate Intern for Fall 2026. The intern will support IT staff in the administration of equipment and provide technical assistance to end‑users.

What You Will Do

Write scripts to automate routine tasks and improve daily operations.

Maintain the data center, including verifying server and equipment health status and organizing data center assets.

Support servers and desktops running Linux, Windows, or macOS operating systems.

What You Will Learn

Organize and maintain an IT document repository.

Perform research and evaluation of IT products.

Diagnose and solve end‑user IT issues.

Staging and deploying IT equipment.

Qualifications

Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Information Technology, Computer Information Systems, or a related field and be actively enrolled through completion of the internship.

Familiarity with administration of Windows 11 operating systems.

Experience with PC hardware repair of laptops, desktops, and servers.

Analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.

Familiarity with additional operating systems (e.g., Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Ubuntu, Windows Server).

Experience with scripting.

Experience with basic IT infrastructure services, security, and protocols.

Compensation and Benefits
Salary range: 37,000 USD – 82,000 USD. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short‑term and long‑term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.

Work Location
This is an on‑site role. Candidates must reside or relocate within commuting distance of Cambridge, MA.
