Facility Maint Tech - MechTrd - Journey
Position Summary
Perform maintenance and construction services in plumbing and welding, serving as a welder for both construction and maintenance projects within Facilities Services. Responsible for new construction, maintenance, and repair of existing facilities, and for fabricating components for emergency welding repairs.
Responsibilities
Perform maintenance and construction services in plumbing and welding.
Serve as a welder for construction and maintenance projects.
Fabricate components under direction of the primary contact for emergency welding repairs.
Provide new construction, maintenance, and repair of existing facilities.
Minimum Education & Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalency, or demonstrated possession of competencies necessary to perform the work.
Experience in plumbing and piping systems preferred; may be substituted on a year‑for‑year basis.
Required Licenses & Certifications
Valid North Carolina Driver’s License (or ability to obtain one before start date).
Physical/Mental Requirements
Move objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
Carry and use ladders and work from scaffolding.
Work during adverse weather or emergency conditions.
Sign‑On Bonus
Eligible for a sign‑on bonus of $4,668 paid in two installments: $2,334 within 30 days of hire, and $2,334 12 months after hire.
