Payroll Specialist

We are partnering with a local organization in the Richmond area seeking an experienced Payroll professional to support accurate and timely payroll processing. This role is ideal for someone who is detail oriented, reliable, and enjoys working in a collaborative team environment.
Key Responsibilities

Process payroll accurately and on time for hourly and salaried employees
Maintain employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and changes
Ensure payroll compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies
Respond to payroll-related questions from employees and management
Coordinate payroll data with HR, Finance, and Accounting teams
Support audits, reporting, and year end payroll activities
Qualifications

Previous payroll processing experience required
Strong knowledge of payroll best practices and compliance requirements
Experience with payroll systems and Excel preferred
High attention to detail with strong organizational skills
Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Preferred Experience

Multistate payroll experience
Experience working with payroll in a corporate or professional services environment
Familiarity with timekeeping systems and benefits deductions
