Procurement Sourcing Specialist / Analyst
The primary function of this role is to support the strategic procurement team by leading various procurement project initiatives which require data analysis, supplier communication, cross‑functional collaboration, negotiation, and project management abilities.
Responsibilities
Lead and manage multiple supply chain projects simultaneously, including corporate programs involving supplier risk mitigation and resilience.
Analyze supplier quotes, bids, RFQs, RFPs and recommend best total cost options.
Source and evaluate mechanical and electrical vendors for medical device components.
Lead contract negotiations, pricing discussions, and vendor onboarding.
Manage procurement requests, purchase orders, and vendor communications.
Track and report on project milestones, procurement timelines, and cost savings.
Support tariff mitigation strategies and identify opportunities for second sourcing.
Collaborate with engineering, quality, and regulatory teams to ensure supplier compliance.
Maintain accurate records of sourcing decisions, contracts, and supplier performance.
Ensure alignment with medical device industry standards and internal quality systems.
Identify, develop, and gather necessary resources to complete all project phases: scope, charter, execution, escalation requests, post implementation, and closure.
Work cross‑functionally to perform risk analyses and develop mitigation strategies to improve the supply chain and ensure successful project completion.
Direct project execution by assigning tasks, tracking project schedules, identifying risks, and developing and executing contingency plans.
Provide support and direction to project staff on problem solving, visualization of data, and development of metrics (KPIs).
Communicate project status by preparing standard status reports and participating in departmental and customer project status update meetings.
Resolve project issues by working with team members, project stakeholders, customers, and others as appropriate.
Break down complex projects or issues and present them in a digestible format to all levels of the organization.
Interface with management on significant matters, often requiring the coordination of activity across organizational units.
Exercise independent judgment.
Essential Skills
3+ years of experience as an engineer, technical project manager, procurement, supply chain, or finance.
1+ years in the medical device business or another highly regulated industry.
4+ years of working with cross‑functional teams driving deadlines.
2+ years of experience in analyzing and/or negotiating new contracts with suppliers.
1+ years of mapping for supply chain resistance (back‑up suppliers).
Proficient in Microsoft Project, Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Thorough knowledge of engineering, procurement, supply chain, and other project‑related activities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in processing and visualizing data.
Ability to manage deadlines and adjust to changing priorities.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain, finance operations management, business administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Master’s degree preferred.
Strong commitment to safety and environmental guidelines.
Compensation and Location
Pay range: $40.00 – $53.00 per hour.
Location: Scottsdale, AZ (contract position).
