Field Construction Manager Night Shift
The Field Construction Manager Night Shift is responsible for leading and overseeing overnight construction activities supporting federal infrastructure and industrial projects at the Savannah River Site in Aiken, South Carolina. This role provides direct field leadership for night shift operations, ensuring construction activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project specifications, federal regulations, and site requirements.
The Field Construction Manager coordinates subcontractors, craft personnel, and project teams to maintain productivity and ensure alignment with project schedules and operational objectives. This role plays a critical part in maintaining continuous project progress across multiple shifts while reinforcing Quanta Government Solutions' commitment to safety, regulatory compliance, and disciplined field execution in a highly regulated federal work environment.
Success in this role requires strong leadership, construction management experience, and the ability to effectively manage teams and operations during night shift construction activities.
What You'll Do
Lead and supervise night shift construction activities to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project schedules and approved work plans.
Coordinate and manage subcontractors, craft labor, inspectors, and vendors working during overnight operations.
Promote and enforce a strong safety culture by conducting shift safety briefings, job hazard analyses, and field safety inspections.
Monitor overnight construction progress and maintain shift-level reporting on productivity, schedule impacts, and operational issues.
Ensure compliance with federal contracting requirements, site-specific safety procedures, and regulatory standards applicable to work at Savannah River Site.
Maintain accurate shift documentation including daily construction reports, RFIs, inspection logs, permits, and subcontractor coordination records.
Identify and escalate field issues, safety concerns, and operational constraints to project leadership to ensure timely resolution.
Coordinate closely with day shift leadership to maintain continuity of work, schedule alignment, and operational handoff between shifts.
Support quality control activities to ensure construction work meets engineering specifications, regulatory standards, and project requirements.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as required to support construction operations and project delivery.
What You'll Bring
Required Education and Experience
Minimum 8+ years of construction management, field supervision, or construction leadership experience supporting industrial, infrastructure, or large-scale construction projects.
Demonstrated experience managing subcontractors and field crews in active construction environments.
Strong knowledge of construction safety standards, OSHA regulations, and field safety practices.
Experience coordinating construction schedules and managing field execution during shift operations.
Ability to maintain detailed project documentation and communicate effectively with project leadership.
Strong leadership and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage teams during overnight construction operations.
Preferred Education and Experience
Experience supporting federal construction projects or government facilities, particularly projects supporting federal agencies or national laboratory environments.
Experience working in highly regulated environments such as nuclear, energy, or government infrastructure programs.
Prior experience working on projects at Savannah River Site or other Department of Energy facilities.
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related technical discipline (or equivalent field experience).
