Travel Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) - Long Term Care (LTC) (Days)

Mobile Health Team Inc. is seeking an experienced

Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) - Long Term Care (LTC)

for a 13-week travel assignment in Harrisonville, MO.

M-F, 8 hr days- Times are flexible as long as consistent and communicated with DOR. We do ask the therapists start time is before 6AM and no later than 10AM/ 35 GWW

Key Responsibilities

Utilizes evidence-based practice to support clinical interventions.

Provides rehabilitative, skilled and medically necessary treatment intervention to patients with cognitive and/or physical functioning disorders per regulatory and clinical practice requirements under the supervision and direction of an Occupational Therapist.

Administers various procedures as part of the rehabilitation plan including but not limited to: ADL retraining; therapeutic activities; therapeutic exercises; modalities; use of supportive and assistive devices; etc. Under the supervision and direction of an Occupational Therapist.

Assesses patient’s progress and communicates with supervising Occupational Therapist to adjust treatments accordingly in the clinical record per regulatory and clinical practice requirements.

Reports effectiveness of treatment outcomes to supervising Occupational Therapist.

Provides consultation to patients, as well as families, caregivers and other service providers related to the cognitive and/or physical disorders.

Effectively communicates with supervisor and other health team members regarding patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans.

Provides input to supervisor for discharge summary of services provided per regulatory and clinical requirements.

Documents all regulatory and clinically required information in the electronic documentation system and maintains patient records according to company policy.

Accurately records treatment minutes for services provided per all regulatory and clinical requirements.

Participation in required meetings including but not limited to: patient care conferences, utilization review meetings, rehabilitation meetings, etc.

Participate in facility and company required training, in‑services and conferences.

Able to work with supervising Occupational Therapist to obtain any necessary DME or supplies per regulatory and clinical practice requirements.

Able to supervise and support students under the guidance of the Occupational Therapist.

Adherence to NBCOT / AOTA and State Required practice acts, code of conduct, ethics during professional practice as an Occupational Therapist Assistant.

Active State Licensure/Registration when applicable.

Compensation

Weekly Pay (hourly) + Non-taxed Stipend (if eligible)

Requirements

1 year of OTA experience is required

LTC or SNF Experience is required

OTA license is required

New Grads OKAY – as long as a Level II experience and not just a Level I observation experience

Missouri State License is a requirement; Compact Allowed

Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills

Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask

Willingness to participate in continuing education and training programs

Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently

Strong communication, professionalism, and reliability

Drug screen and background check (facility required)
