
Estimator/Design Engineer

Overview A manufacturer in South Point, OH is seeking an Estimator/Design Engineer to support custom mechanical projects from concept through execution. This role combines estimating, CAD design, and collaboration across engineering, purchasing, and sales.
Base pay range $85,000.00/yr - $90,000.00/yr
Responsibilities Receive RFQs and conduct site visits for new project proposals
Prepare and update CAD drawings (AutoCAD, SolidWorks)
Create layouts for machinery, tools, and devices for manufacture/assembly
Partner with Purchasing for pricing and Sales for new business development
Present and document estimates and project reports
Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering (or related)
5+ years mechanical design experience
3+ years estimating experience
2–5 years CAD design (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar)
Knowledge of machining processes, CNC programming, materials, and tolerances
Understanding of manufacturing techniques and costs
Experience with Ross ERP and Microsoft Dynamics CRM (preferred)
Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to lift up to 60 lbs, sit for extended periods, and travel as needed
Preferred Experience 3D modeling expertise
Process engineering or lean manufacturing background
