A client of AlphaStaffHCM™ is seeking an
Injury Adjuster
to support non‑attorney involved soft tissue bodily injury claims. This role is responsible for confirming coverage, determining liability, investigating losses, evaluating damages, negotiating settlements, and adjudicating claims in compliance with applicable state laws and regulations.
The Injury Adjuster delivers a concierge‑level, best‑in‑class member experience through proactive communication, setting clear expectations, and timely claim resolution. This role collaborates closely with internal teams, vendors, and business partners while managing varying levels of claim complexity.
Key Responsibilities
Adjust non‑attorney involved soft tissue bodily injury claims, including related auto physical damage exposures
Identify, confirm, and make coverage decisions in accordance with policy terms and state regulations
Investigate loss details, determine legal liability, evaluate damages, negotiate settlements, and adjudicate claims within assigned authority
Document claim activity clearly and thoroughly to support accurate and compliant outcomes
Provide guidance to members regarding next steps, timelines, and claim expectations
Deliver a best‑in‑class member service experience through proactive communication and responsiveness
Collaborate with team members to resolve issues and elevate matters appropriately
Partner with vendors and internal business partners to facilitate timely claim resolution
Manage claims of varying complexity and support workload surges as needed
Participate in catastrophe (CAT) response operations, including mandatory on‑call periods and potential evening, weekend, or holiday work
Support CAT deployment travel with minimal notice during designated events
Identify, measure, monitor, and control risks associated with claims handling activities
Perform other duties as assigned
Environment
Hybrid position requiring in‑office presence 3 days per week
Position may be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX; Phoenix, AZ; Colorado Springs, CO; Chesapeake, VA; Tampa, FL
Typical schedule: Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. (local office time)
Mandatory training required (schedule to be determined)
Relocation assistance is not available
Must‑Have Qualifications
High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
Minimum 1 year of injury adjusting or auto liability adjusting experience, including highly complex vehicle physical damage claims (e.g., multi‑vehicle, non‑owned vehicle, or total loss claims)
Working knowledge of auto claims contracts, coverage evaluation, investigation, negotiation, and claim adjudication
Familiarity with applicable case law and state insurance laws and regulations
Strong negotiation, investigation, communication, and conflict resolution skills
Proven ability to prioritize, multitask, and solve problems effectivelyDemonstrated sound financial judgment and discretion in claim handling
Knowledge of coverage evaluation, loss assessment, and loss reserving
Ability to acquire and maintain required insurance adjuster licenses within 90 days (up to 3 attempts)
Nice‑to‑Have Qualifications
Currently in a Senior Auto Adjuster / Complex role
1+ year of experience as a Complex Senior Auto Adjuster
2+ years of auto liability or casualty adjusting experience, including complex or multi‑vehicle claims
Experience handling total loss claims
