Job Purpose
The Inventory Control Clerk is responsible for conducting cycle counts and bin location audits, assisting in researching and reconciling inventory discrepancies and working with the Inventory Supervisor/Manager in any inventory related functions concerned with inventorying materials, supplies, tools, equipment, and parts, in stockroom, warehouse, or yard.

Schedule and Compensation

Monday‑Thursday 5 AM‑3:30 PM ($18/hour)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Performs physical counts of inventory items in order to maintain accurate inventory.

Counts and reconciles randomly chosen or chosen part numbers and/or locations on a daily basis.

Accurately inputs inventory control data to ensure inventory integrity.

Completes necessary documentation thoroughly, accurately, and on‑time.

Traces history of items to determine reasons for discrepancies between inventory and stock control records and recommends remedial actions to resolve discrepancies.

Other tasks as assigned by supervisor/manager.

Spends 80% or more of the workday performing inventory related activities in the warehouse using an RF Gun or Tablet. 20% or less of the workday is spent working at a computer terminal.

Clerks are required to travel to and assist at other facilities as needed.

Must have reliable transportation.

Additional Responsibilities

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Ensures compliance to inventory processes and procedures, and contractual obligations.

Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets.

Utilize computer terminal to properly account for inventory issues, returns, and documentation.

Qualifications

Minimum 1–3 months related experience and/or training in Inventory Control.

Minimum 1–3 months related experience and/or training in a warehouse environment.

Experience operating power equipment is required, such as Reach Truck, EPJ and/or cherry picker/order picker.

Experience using WMS software a plus (Synapse preferred).

PC literate with experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Access Database.

Education and Experience Required

High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalency.

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to read and write emails.

Ability to physically count articles or products on shelves, racks and pallets.

Forklift certification a plus.

Language Skills Sets

Must be able to effectively communicate, read, write, and speak English.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Ability to determine "root cause" of problem and determine corrective action.

Computer Skills

Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite for writing emails and interpreting and/or creating reports.

Physical Demands

Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 pounds.

Must be able to stand; walk; stoop; kneel; crouch; or crawl.

Must be articulate and comfortable speaking in front of others.

Frequently required to talk, hear, stand and walk.

Must be able to work in excess of continuous 8 hours when required.

Must be able to work under stressful situations, have good cognitive skills, maintain work accuracy, and be able to concentrate on more than one task at a time.

Must have the ability to read and discern visual images on a variety of media with 20/20 corrected vision.

Must be able to speak and communicate clearly over telephones.

Must be in sound physical health as determined by a certified licensed physician with no evidence of the use of controlled substances.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment will range from quiet to moderately loud.
