Dispatcher
and play a vital role in keeping our UNL community safe. You'll be the critical link between callers in need and emergency respondersmaking a difference every shift.
What You'll Do
Answer emergency and non-emergency calls for police, fire, and EMS services
Use multi-line phones, radio systems, and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) tools to coordinate rapid response
Communicate clearly and calmly with callers and first responders during high-stress situations
Relay essential information to public safety officials and partner agencies
Maintain accurate records and reports
Complete six months of paid training

Minimum Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED
Experience with customer service and computers
Typing speed of 30+ words per minute
Valid driver's license and ability to meet University driver eligibility criteria
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience, training or coursework related to public safety or communications preferred but not required.
