Position Overview
Siemens Mobility Inc is seeking to fill a Project Reliability Manager in an exciting railroad environment in New Castle, Delaware. This job entails direct support in fleet reliability and maintenance planning for the different Siemens electrical and diesel-powered locomotives, as well as our numerous light rail vehicles and street cars, and duties as directed to support Siemens Customer Service. The Project Reliability Manager also provides technical guidance to our contractual depots, and administrative services to our Reliability and Service Managers.

What your day-to-day will look like
Failure Tracking

Monitor locomotive failures captured in the fleet failure database

Review and validate incoming failure records for accuracy and completeness

Determine Siemens responsibility for each recorded failure

Identify the failed component for each failure event

Assign an initial (preliminary) failure mode

Maintain consistent failure categorization to support reliability analysis (Weibull)

Failure Review Board (FRB)

Prepare and facilitate Failure Review Board meetings

Compile failure data, trend analyses, and material usage and cost summaries

Present reliability findings and performance trends to project partners

Lead discussions to identify failure modes requiring corrective action

Determine when corrective actions are warranted

Generate FRACAS items for approved corrective actions

Assign and track FRACAS actions

Reliability and KPI Reporting

Calculate fleet reliability metrics (e.g., MDBF, MMBD, failure type trends)

Track and report key reliability and performance KPIs

Develop and maintain the Fleet Scorecard

Analyze fleet performance trends over time

Identify and prioritize high-impact reliability issues

Assess the impact of failures on overall fleet performance

Develop and maintain interactive reliability dashboards using visual analytics tools

Support team member and management reviews with data-driven insights

To thrive in this role, you have

Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering field of study.

Minimum of 3 years of successful experience in reliability, manufacturing, and/or mechanical engineering.

Strongly demonstrated communication, listening, and organizational skills.

Ability to quickly adapt and work with varying internal toolsets and databases.

Proven ability to work systematically and meet timelines with minimal direction.

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations.

Advanced proficiency with all Microsoft Office (including Excel/Word/Access/PowerPoint).

Experience in the use of analytics tools for report and dashboard creation (e.g. Spotfire, Tableau, or Power BI).

Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.

Ability to travel: 10%

Setting you apart from others would be strong Reliability and Performance Analysis competency with the ability to model and analyze reliability using Weibull Analysis and a background or formal training in quality tools e.g. six sigma. The ability to apply standardization of processes to enhance consistency of output and increase efficiency as well as the aptitude to understand technical information across multiple domains is preferred. Rolling stock rail equipment or Aerospace equipment understanding and proficiency as well as an understanding and experience with Reliability Analysis Software (Reliasoft, etc.) would be a plus.
