Job Summary
Flik Hospitality Group – Executive Chef, Ace Team (Chicagoland region). Salary: $88,000 – $90,000 per year.
You will oversee kitchen operations, maintain a safe and sanitary work environment, and prepare or direct meal preparation according to corporate programs and guidelines. The role is energetic, entrepreneurial, and supportive of multiple Flik accounts, with up to 25% travel to non‑local locations.
Key Responsibilities
Plan regular and modified menus according to established guidelines.
Follow standardized recipes, portioning, and presentation standards; complete and utilize daily production worksheets and waste log sheets; taste completed meals to ensure quality.
Train kitchen staff in food preparation, safe handling, equipment operation, food safety and sanitation based on company and regulatory standards.
Establish and maintain cleaning and maintenance schedules for equipment, storage, and work areas; ensure staff follows and completes schedules.
Maintain inventory of food and non‑food supplies to stay within guidelines while ensuring necessary product availability.
Decide on utilization of leftover food products within company guidelines.
Comply with federal, state, and local health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures as evidenced through local health department and third‑party audits.
Follow facility, department, and company safety policies and procedures, including occurrence reporting.
Participate in departmental meetings, staff development, and professional programs as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
A.S. or equivalent experience.
5+ years of progressive culinary/kitchen management experience.
Extensive catering experience a plus.
High volume, complex foodservice operations experience – highly desirable.
Institutional and batch cooking experience.
Hands‑on chef experience a must.
Comprehensive knowledge of food and catering trends with a focus on quality, production, sanitation, food cost controls, and presentation.
Computer proficiency: Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, e‑mail, and the Internet.
Willingness to participate in client satisfaction programs/activities.
ServSafe certified – highly desirable.
