
Senior Research Assistant - Experimental Therapeutics

Overview
Senior Research Assistant. The Experimental Therapeutics department focuses on the discovery and development of innovative cancer treatments through translational research, identifying novel drug targets, designing and testing therapeutic agents, and advancing them from preclinical studies to early-phase clinical trials. The team integrates molecular biology, pharmacology, and advanced technologies to accelerate the development of personalized cancer therapies with collaboration across disciplines to move promising compounds toward improving patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
Laboratory work including cell culture, handling patient tissues, and working with macromolecules such as DNA, RNA, and proteins.
Maintain cancer cell lines using sterile techniques and adhere to safety procedures for patient samples.
Isolate and assay macromolecules; apply molecular biology and immunology techniques.
Follow procedures for hazardous and/or radioactive substrates; maintain environmental surveys and records of chemicals/reagents.
Record data manually and prepare publication-ready charts, graphs, and tables; use MS Word and Excel for documentation.
Teach laboratory techniques to students and research personnel; assist with experimental animal handling when needed; stay current with scientific literature.
Qualifications
Extensive laboratory experience including cell culture, handling patient tissues, and work with macromolecules (DNA, RNA, proteins).
Strong knowledge of molecular biology and advanced immunology techniques; familiarity with safety procedures for hazardous or radioactive materials.
Accurate record-keeping and data analysis; ability to prepare publication-ready materials; proficient in MS Word and Excel.
Ability to teach laboratory techniques to graduate students, fellows, and research personnel; may assist with experimental animal procedures; and stay informed through relevant literature.
Education
Required: Bachelor\'s Degree in Natural Sciences or related field.
Preferred: Master's Degree in basic sciences.
Preferred: Medical Degree.
Experience
Required: Three years of scientific or experimental research experience.
Required: One year of experience with a preferred degree.
