An enterprise client is seeking a
JHA Analyst/Safety Specialist
to support onsite safety operations for a project based in Toronto, Canada. This role plays a critical part in promoting a strong safety culture by ensuring compliance, conducting hazard analyses, and supporting safety initiatives across teams.
The selected candidate will work closely with internal teams and client stakeholders in a fast-paced, onsite environment. This is a hands‑on role requiring active participation in daily operations, safety meetings, and training programs.
Job Description
Conduct Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) to identify and mitigate workplace risks.
Attend and actively contribute to weekly onsite meetings and safety discussions.
Support and participate in safety training sessions conducted in 2–3 week cycles.
Lead and assist in safety meetings, including risk assessments and safety briefings.
Provide onsite safety support to both internal and client teams.
Collaborate with team members to ensure adherence to safety protocols and standards.
Participate in a dedicated 1‑week onsite safety meeting, along with ongoing weekly sessions.
Work extended schedules (Monday–Saturday, 10‑hour days) during active project phases.
Qualifications
Experience in safety operations, hazard analysis, or a related field is preferred.
Familiarity with conducting Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and safety risk assessments.
Strong understanding of workplace safety standards and compliance requirements.
Ability to lead and facilitate safety meetings and training sessions.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong attention to detail and proactive approach to risk identification.
Ability to work effectively in an onsite, team‑based environment.
Willingness to work extended hours during project phases.
