
HSE Coordinator

Responsibilities
Assisting in conducting and identifying when project-specific training is required, which may include weekly training topics, hazard specific training, and the HSE Operating Procedure (HSEOP)
Participating in and providing information for HSE meetings
Providing project team with project-specific information and statistics to develop trends and assisting with the creation of trend action plans
Assisting with the development and implementation of Hazard ID tools (e.g., Construction Hazard Assessment (CHA), Job Hazard Analysis (JHA), Pre-job Safety Instruction (PSI))
Conducting and documenting project HSE inspections
Verifying that corrective actions are implemented
Identifying and monitoring appropriate site PPE
Assisting project management and supervision with the implementation and monitoring of the emergency response plan, project security requirements, and environmental plan
Gathering, reviewing, and providing input on trade documentation
Monitoring trade contractor safety compliance
Notifying project management and direct supervision of any incident and assisting with the investigation
Assisting in the implementation, monitoring, and support of the project’s HSE Plan, HSEOPs, safe work practices, and any other HSE-related practices.
Qualifications
Postsecondary diploma or degree in OH&S is considered an asset
Safety designation such as NCSO, CRSP, or CHST are considered an asset
2 years’ experience in a related industry with direct experience in HSE
Knowledge of applicable OH&S and environmental legislation
Ability to implement HSE processes
Demonstrated ability to influence project teams regarding HSE responsibility
Ability to identify and resolve conflicts with craft workers
Effective communication and presentation skills
Ability to develop, influence, and maintain effective stakeholder relationships
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, with a strong aptitude for adopting new technology

The estimated salary range for this role is $45-$50 an hour, based on your experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed as part of a personalized offer.
