This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) – a student loan payment reimbursement program. Eligible applicants must meet specific VHA policy requirements and submit an EDRP application within four months of appointment. The award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services office after review of the application. Former EDRP participants are ineligible to apply.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements
United States citizenship (non‑citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy)
Doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree in medicine or osteopathic medicine from an approved school for the year the degree was conferred.
Current full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a U.S. state, territory, Commonwealth or the District of Columbia.
Completed residency training approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty leading to board certification. Valid residencies include ACGME or AOA programs, or other non‑U.S. programs followed by a minimum of five years of verified U.S. practice deemed appropriate by the local Medical Staff Executive Committee.
Residents in ACGME/AOA accredited programs who meet basic requirements may be appointed as Physician Resident Providers (PRPs) on an intermittent or fee‑basis; PRPs are not independent practitioners and have restricted scope of practice under supervision.
Proficiency in spoken and written English.

Duties
The Oklahoma City VA Medical Center seeks a full‑time Interventional Radiologist.
Board certified/board eligible by the American Board of Radiology with a minimum of one year ACGME‑accredited fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology.
Experience performing vascular and non‑vascular interventional and therapeutic procedures, including diagnostic angiography, angioplasty, stenting, thrombolysis, embolization, radiofrequency ablation, drainages, biliary and urinary procedures, and biopsies.
Ability to collaborate with Vascular Surgery and to perform a wide spectrum of image‑guided biopsies and drainage procedures.
Teaching of medical students and residents is integral to the position.
Expertise in radiation safety, physics, and injury prevention.
Comfortable with a fully integrated PAC system and voice recognition system.
Highly visible and accessible to patients and referring physicians.
Will perform duties as described and additional responsibilities as agreed upon.
Must have or obtain BLS/ACLS certification.
On‑call rotation is required.
Eligibility for the Contract Buy Out Program (CBOP) for certain rural or highly rural facilities.
