
Business Development Manager – Medical, Lab & Analytics

Summary: The role of the Business Development Manager is to be an entrepreneur responsible for growth and success in market development, new customer growth along with being the company's ambassador in local markets while presenting our Fluidic Automation capabilities within the Medical, Lab & Analytics industry. The BDM is to generate interest in the company; directly and through, Area Sales Managers and Corporate Key Account Managers while supporting the company sales plan. The BDM's main goal is to increase Burkert's Market Share in the Medical, Lab & Analytics industry through close collaboration and strong strategy.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for business growth by using many tools to interactively reach potential new customers, driving specification of Burkert products
Coordinate marketing efforts with the Marketing Coordinator and Industry Portfolio Manager which at minimum includes; product launches, lunch and learns, trade shows, data sheets along with other sales and marketing activities and documentation
Identify and assist with the generation and advancement of new opportunities and projects within the Medical, Lab & Analytics Industry
Promote duplication of sales success within the Medical, Lab & Analytics industry
Drive the specifications of Burkert Solutions at: OEMs, Contract Design & Manufacturing firms, Integrators and Corporate level focusing on New Customer Development
Work closely with the ASMS to actively promote Burkert products within key customers and targeted prospects
Develop a list of target accounts to pursue for growth in the Medical, Lab & Analytics market and ensure organizational alignment of target accounts
Provide bi-weekly report on key targeted accounts and communicate that information in company CRM tool
Coordinate with the Industry Portfolio Manager to conduct training for company employees and customers on products and application opportunities in your specific market.
Maintain a current market strategy at all times.

40% or higher depending on region, expectation is to travel as much as necessary to support your new account development
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent certified completed technical training courses preferred
5+ years of sales and technical experience in the Medical, Lab & Analytics market required
Strong customer focus and attention to detail
Able to work closely within a team and contribute individually
Proficiency in CRM and Microsoft Office Suite
Demonstrated capability to penetrate and develop key accounts in the medical and laboratory markets.
