Job Overview
We are excited to offer a permanent
Electrician
in HMP Holme House, Holme House Road, Stockton-on-Tees TS18 2QU.
The base salary is
£30,866 - £36,135 .
Standard hours:
39 hours per week , Monday to Friday 07:30–16:00 (finish at 15:00 Friday); Saturday to Sunday 07:45–16:45. You will work one weekend in three on a rota, with a 15% allowance on top of basic salary.
Responsibilities
Planned and preventative electrical maintenance, including administrative duties aligned to the tasks.
Actively fault finding / problem solving on electrical systems across the prison.
Carry out like‑for‑like replacements and other electrical minor works with the relevant electrical inspections and tests carried out and results recorded in accordance with BS7671.
Ensuring that all electrical systems are safe, compliant, and functioning effectively to help create a secure and well‑maintained environment for staff and residents.
Assist the Responsible Person and Authorized Person when requested.
Ensure that Health & Safety standards, Risk Assessments, and Safe Systems of Work are consistently implemented and followed across all appropriate work streams.
Assist escorting duties and other duties as required.
Qualifications
City & Guilds 2367 or 2357 Level 2 Electrical Installation works or equivalent.
BS7671 18th Edition, or 17th Edition with upskilling to 18th Edition considered.
Good working knowledge of Health & Safety requirements.
Good working knowledge of planned and preventative maintenance operations.
Excellent organisational, time‑management and people skills.
Experience of working under pressure to tight deadlines.
Able to work at heights, independently, and use initiative.
Understanding of fire alarm and CCTV systems, which will help you make an immediate impact. (Desirable)
Knowledge and experience of Electrical Systems and Electricity at Work Regulations.
Basic IT skills.
