Required Qualifications
Valid Speech Language Pathologist License in compliance with state regulations
Current BLS certification (AHA/ARC)
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s Degree or higher in Speech Language Pathology
Current Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology
Experience in Speech Language Pathology; new graduates welcome to apply
Other certifications or licenses may be required for this position
Essential Work Functions
Utilize standardized assessments and clinical observation to evaluate speech, language, voice, fluency, and swallowing disorders in a diverse patient population.
Design personalized therapy programs based on evaluation findings, patient goals, and evidence-based practices.
Continuously assess patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and maintain detailed, accurate documentation in the electronic medical record.
Educate patients, families, and caregivers on effective communication strategies, home-based exercises, and safe swallowing practices, while providing supportive counseling when required.
Work in conjunction with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate a comprehensive approach to patient care.
Maintain a safe treatment environment by adhering to infection control protocols, safety guidelines, and regulatory standards while addressing patients’ comfort needs during therapy sessions.
Engage in quality assurance initiatives and professional development activities to remain current with best practices in speech-language therapy.
Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice.
Required Essential Skills
Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills.
Proficiency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and use essential PC skills.
Physical Abilities – Able to remain stationary, move about, move equipment (50-100 lbs), push, pull, and bend.
Interpersonal Skills – Able to work effectively with diverse personnel (professional and ancillary) and maintain a positive attitude and professionalism.
Technical/Motor Skills – Capable of fine manipulation, push/pull, and movement when assisting with procedures or using department equipment.
Mental Requirements – Able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure; work under close supervision occasionally and without assistance as needed; handle irregular activity schedules and maintain continuous concentration to detail.
Sensory – Visual acuity and ability to communicate effectively.
