Responsibilities
Assist students with on-task behavior and completion of teacher assigned tasks including hand over hand assist if needed
Assist students with questions regarding assignments
Accompany/escort students in exploratory classes and therapy sessions as needed
Supervise independent or small group work
Assist in necessary record keeping including data collection or health records
Assist in preparation of instructional materials and supplies and clean up
Administer alternative testing accommodations when needed
Escort students to various parts of the building
Assist with student arrival and departure
Attend to students physical needs including, toileting, lifting for transfers to/from wheelchair
Attend to students medical needs under direction of school nurse such as GI Tube feeding, suctioning and care of tracheotomy
Administer medication and/or oxygen per Physicians orders
Monitor and implement behavior intervention plans if necessary
Accompany students in all physical activities including in the swimming pool if necessary
Follow directions of classroom teacher, therapists or other professional staff
